About Me

Štěpánka teaching

My Czech teaching journey started back in 2018, when I met my first Czech students while studying in Chemnitz, Germany. At that time, I was working hard on my English and German, but somehow I enjoyed speaking Czech with foreigners even more. Since Chemnitz is a city close to the Czech border, there were quite a few Czech learners around. Eventually, I started organizing Tandem meetings so we could practice together.

Later, when I returned to Brno, I made many foreign friends and naturally became the friend who went with them to the bank, the police, the hospital, POŠTA or checked their Google-translated messages to landlords or bosses. I didn’t mind - it was fun! But from my own experience abroad, I knew how much better it feels when you can handle these things on your own. That was the moment I decided to start teaching full-time.

Since then, I’ve helped people prepare for work, studies, dates, adoptions, family celebrations, or simply just to understand what's going on in their surroundings. I truly understand how important these moments are and how amazing it feels to succeed. I’ve also been an outsider abroad myself. I lived in the UK, Germany, Austria, and Spain. At first it was a struggle (especially in Spain without the language), but in each country I eventually found my place.

My wish for you is the same - and I’ll be here to help you every step of the way!
